Cross-realm data exposure via empty authorization filter
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Apache Syncope allows remote authenticated users to read search results outside their permitted realms. The non-recursive Any search transformation can render its Realms authorization filter empty, so the generated SQL, Neo4J, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch query applies no realm restriction. The issue requires an authenticated requester and affects 3.0.0-M0 through 3.0.16, 4.0.0-M0 through 4.0.7, and 4.1.0-M0 through 4.1.2; exposure is limited to records returned by the search.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.0.0-M0 <=3.0.16
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0-M0 <=4.0.7
