Unauthenticated site takeover via trojanized update
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Embedded malicious code in WPManageNinja Fluent Forms Pro Add-on 6.2.7 allows remote attackers to take over WordPress sites via updates. A require_once line added to fluentformpro.php loads libs/class-license-sync.php, which registers a backdoor REST endpoint and writes persistent PHP implants, database entries, administrator access, and scheduled tasks. Exposure is limited to sites that installed the tampered 6.2.7 package during the compromised update window; the implants allow passwordless administrative access and persist after plugin removal.
