Terminal manipulation via unfiltered control sequences
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Terminal escape injection in OhMyPosh before 29.35.1 allows attackers to alter terminal state through crafted prompt data. The write function in src/terminal/writer.go emits C0 and C1 control runes from directory names and Git metadata without neutralization. Exploitation requires rendering a malicious directory or repository locally and enables clipboard writes, prompt or screen spoofing, title changes, or terminal disruption.
