Sandbox escape via WebMIDI use-after-free
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Use after free in WebMIDI in Google Chrome before 147.0.7727.138 allows remote attackers to escape the browser sandbox. WebMIDI accesses an object after its lifetime has ended, but Google has not disclosed the affected function, object, or triggering sequence. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page, user interaction, and prior compromise of the renderer process; successful abuse escapes the renderer sandbox and can affect data or service beyond it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
