CVE-2026-73476Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated privilege escalation via case-insensitive identity matching

Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Access bypass in Drupal External Authentication before 2.0.13 allows remote authenticated users to gain another user's privileges. Authentication mappings store and look up externally supplied identity values without enforcing exact case matches, so case-insensitive database comparison can resolve a distinct identity to an existing mapping. Exploitation requires an affected MySQL or MariaDB collation for the mapping table and an external authentication path; the resulting session receives the privileges of the collided account.
