Privilege escalation via unchecked delegation role scope
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Improper privilege management in Apache Syncope allows remote authenticated users to grant Roles beyond their delegation scope. Delegation creation and update accept Roles not owned by the delegating User and Roles outside the Realm subtree where delegation management was granted. Exploitation requires authenticated delegation-management rights and can confer unauthorized entitlements; affected releases are 3.0.0-M0 through 3.0.16, 4.0.0-M0 through 4.0.7, and 4.1.0-M0 through 4.1.2.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
