Adjacent routing disruption via crafted OSPFv2 packets
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Insufficient OSPFv2 packet authenticity checks in Arista EOS 4.36.1F and earlier allow remote attackers to disrupt routing. EOS insufficiently verifies a crafted OSPFv2 packet despite configured cryptographic authentication, causing neighbor adjacencies to flap and packets to be lost. Exposure requires at least two neighbors on one broadcast interface with OSPFv2 cryptographic authentication, and disruption can propagate across the OSPF domain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=1.0.0 <4.33.0F
