CVE-2026-73414Public exploitHinoki check available

Command execution via unescaped CMD parentheses

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

OS command injection in Eric Cornelissen Shescape before 2.1.14 and version 3.0.0 allows attackers to execute commands through CMD. getEscapeFunction in src/internal/win/cmd.js omits parentheses from its special-character expression, so escape and escapeAll leave them active in attacker-controlled arguments. Exploitation requires Windows with CMD explicitly selected, or shell set to true while CMD is the default, and a surrounding parenthesized command that lets the argument inject shell syntax.
