Unauthorized batch copying via improper ACL checks
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Improper access control in batch copy actions in Joomla! CMS before 5.4.8 and 6.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to copy uneditable items. Joomla's advisory states that the batch copy path does not correctly enforce ACLs on source items that the caller is not allowed to edit, and the reviewed public records do not identify the exact missing check or function beyond that batch copy operation. Reachability requires authenticated access to backend batch actions; the published CVSS 4.0 vector assigns high privileges required and limits the documented impact to unauthorized copying rather than direct item modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0-5.4.6
- Affected versionversion=6.0.0-6.1.2
