Arbitrary code execution via backslash escape bypass
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Code injection in FreeCAD before 1.1.2 allows attackers to execute arbitrary Python code through crafted FEM displacement formulas. TaskDlgFemConstraintDisplacement::accept() interpolates the x, y, and z formula fields into Python command strings after escaping quotation marks but leaving backslashes intact. A victim must accept the Displacement Constraint dialog; the injected code then runs with the FreeCAD process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
