Arbitrary file write via RDP filename traversal
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Path traversal in electerm before 3.15.120 allows remote attackers to write files outside the selected directory through RDP clipboard downloads. The RDP file-transfer handler passes the server-controlled CLIPRDR fileInfo.name value to osResolve without sanitizing traversal sequences. Exploitation requires a user to connect to a malicious RDP server and accept its clipboard file; the resulting arbitrary write can overwrite user-writable files and enable code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
