CVE-2026-73199Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated server crash via missing JOIN_OID value

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Null pointer dereference in the ipa-enrollment plugin in Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows remote authenticated users to crash the LDAP service via JOIN_OID. The ipa_join() handler reads SLAPI_EXT_OP_REQ_VALUE and builds an (fqdn=%s) filter from extop_value->bv_val without checking whether the request value is present or empty. Exposure requires a non-anonymous LDAP bind over a connection that passes the plugin's secure-channel check; available evidence supports denial of service through server crash, not data access or code execution.
