Spreadsheet formula execution via unescaped CSV attributes
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
CSV formula injection in Apache Syncope allows remote authenticated users to place executable formulas in generated CSV exports. The CSV export path writes a user's plain-attribute value without neutralizing spreadsheet formula syntax, so the value remains active in an exported cell. Execution requires an authorized user to store the payload and a recipient to open the export in a spreadsheet application; the resulting formula runs in that application's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.0.0-M0 <=3.0.16
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0-M0 <=4.0.7
