Token multiplication via non-atomic authorization-code consumption
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Race conditions in Apache CXF's JPA OAuth2 provider allow remote attackers to obtain multiple access tokens via concurrent code exchanges. The provider finds an authorization code and deletes it non-atomically, allowing concurrent requests to consume the same code against a shared relational database under READ_COMMITTED isolation. Exploitation requires a usable authorization code and that provider configuration; the documented consequence is multiple valid tokens from one code, not broader authorization scope.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <3.6.13
