Out-of-directory file access via unchecked path resolution
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Path traversal in E-iceblue Spire.PDF MCP Server 0.1.1 allows remote attackers to read host PDFs or write files outside its PDF directory. get_pdf_path returns absolute paths unchanged and joins relative filepath values to PDF_FILES_PATH without canonicalization or a containment check. Exploitation requires access to the exposed MCP tools and is limited by the service account's filesystem permissions and supported file formats.
