CVE-2026-73075

Memory corruption via negative popup row indexing

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Vim 9.2.0469 through 9.2.0842 allows attackers to corrupt heap memory through a crafted Vim script. popup_mark_opacity_zindex() in src/popupwin.c starts its screen-array loop at a negative w_winrow for a clipped, text-property-anchored opacity popup, causing a read before the array and a conditional 16-bit write. Exploitation requires a user to run a script or plugin that combines clipwindow, opacity, and a text-property anchor, then scrolls the host window; opening a file alone does not reach the flaw.
