Cross-site scripting via unescaped serialized JSON
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Cross-site scripting in SWC HTML minification allows remote attackers to execute script in a generated page via crafted embedded JSON. The minifyJson path parses and serializes application/json or application/ld+json content but fails to re-escape less-than signs, so an escaped closing script sequence becomes active markup. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled JSON to enter HTML minification and a user to load the resulting page; the script runs in that page's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
