Authenticated code execution via unchecked strcpy
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-825M 1.1.12 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web server or execute code. In sub_4151FC, /boafrm/formVpnConfigSetup copies the request's submit-url value into a fixed-size stack buffer with strcpy and no length check. The CNA assessment requires low privileges, although the published PoC describes the endpoint as unauthenticated; exploitation can interrupt management access or take control of the device.
