CVE-2026-7280

SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path

Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Unquoted service path handling in AVACAST 5.10.10.43 and earlier allows local users with administrative privileges to execute code as SYSTEM. The Windows service configuration leaves its executable path unquoted, so service startup can resolve and run an attacker-placed executable from a higher-level directory. Administrative file-placement access is required, and execution occurs only when the AVACAST service starts, granting system privileges.
