Database disclosure via recursive SQL parameter interpolation
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
SQL injection in Discourse Data Explorer allows remote authenticated users with query access to read any database table. DataExplorer.run_query and the SQL action workflow recursively reprocessed substituted values and honored parameter declarations inside SQL comments, letting crafted values escape the intended query. Access to a parameterized shared query is sufficient; execution is read-only, so the flaw exposes data but does not modify it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
