Domain blocklist bypass via case-sensitive hostname comparison
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Domain restriction bypass in Discourse allows remote attackers to retrieve Onebox content from configured blocked domains through redirects. Onebox::DomainChecker.is_blocked? compares the redirect target hostname with SiteSetting.blocked_onebox_domains entries without case normalization. Exploitation requires a configured Onebox domain blocklist and a redirect whose hostname differs only in letter case, exposing content the site intended to block.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
