CVE-2026-72703Public exploit

Proof integrity compromise via unchecked fixpoint cross-calls

Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026

Guard-checker error in Rocq Prover 8.20 before 9.2.0 allows local users to admit non-terminating definitions as structurally decreasing. find_uniform_parameters in kernel/inductive.ml checks only self-recursive calls, so parameters changed by cross-calls retain an invalid subterm specification. Processing a crafted proof requires local user interaction and can admit a closed proof of False, undermining the integrity of any proposition derived from it.
