Conversation overwrite via user-controlled identifier

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Authorization bypass in Elastic Kibana 9.2.0 through 9.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite another user's A2A conversation. The Agent Builder A2A JSON-RPC endpoint accepts a caller-supplied conversation identifier and treats an existing conversation owned by another user as replaceable. Agent Builder read privilege, access to the same space, and knowledge or prior sharing of the target identifier are required; the overwrite reassigns the conversation and permanently denies its original owner access without disclosing its content.
