Resource deletion via Fleet identifier traversal

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Relative path traversal in affected Elastic Kibana versions allows remote authenticated users to delete Kibana resources via a crafted host ID. Fleet stores a user-supplied Fleet Server host-configuration identifier without rejecting traversal sequences, then embeds it in a removal request. Exploitation requires low privileges and user interaction; the result is deletion of Kibana resources, with no reported data disclosure.
