Authenticated service interruption via unbounded concurrent validation
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Elastic Kibana 8.0.0 through 8.19.19 and 9.0.0 through 9.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The Observability log analysis validation capability performs an unbounded amount of concurrent work for a specially crafted request, exhausting process memory. Minimal privileges and network access to Kibana are sufficient; affected deployments can degrade or become unavailable to all users until the process is restarted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.19.19
