Monitoring loss via improperly authorized task stop
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Kibana 9.1.0 through 9.4.5 and 9.5.0 through 9.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to stop privilege monitoring. Entity Analytics access controls permit read-level Security users to stop the recurring Privilege Monitoring engine task for a space. The engine must have been initialized; stopping it suppresses new privileged-user monitoring data while Kibana continues to report a healthy state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=9.1.0 <=9.4.5
- Affected versionversion=9.5.0 <=9.5.1
