SOAP server crash via unchecked missing map value
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in PHP ext-soap allows remote attackers to crash affected SOAP servers via a request missing a map value. The to_zval_map() decoder checks xmlKey a second time instead of validating xmlValue, after which master_to_zval_int() dereferences the absent value node. Exploitation requires the SOAP extension and a server configured with a typemap; a crafted apache:Map request then terminates the handling process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
