Stored XSS via unescaped uploaded filename
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Stored XSS in Cube-Root Directory Serve 1.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to run JavaScript via an uploaded filename. The lib/helper/html.js-generated file listing embeds the filename in HTML without neutralizing attribute-breaking characters, turning the stored name into executable markup. Upload access is required, and execution occurs when another user opens the affected listing; Basic authentication is optional and uploads are enabled by default.
