Unauthenticated file write and deletion via path traversal
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Path traversal in AsyncFuncAI DeepWiki-Open through commit 16f35a0 allows remote attackers to write or delete arbitrary files. The get_wiki_cache_path helper interpolates user-controlled owner, repo, repo_type, and language values into a cache filename and joins it to WIKI_CACHE_DIR without sanitization or a containment check. The wiki-cache endpoints require no authentication, and deployments running the API as root expose every file writable or removable by that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
