Authenticated cross-account access via disabled permission checks
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Broken access control in Peppermint through commit ba6e217 allows remote authenticated users to access and alter other accounts' data. The requirePermission middleware returns without evaluating ownership or role permissions when Config.roles_active is false, its default state. Any user account on a default installation can read, modify, or delete other users' tickets, clients, and user records.
