Resource schema corruption via missing administrator check
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Missing authorization in Windmill through 1.783.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite resource type schemas through its workspace API. The update_resource_type endpoint accepts schema updates from ordinary workspace members without enforcing the administrator check used by the delete endpoint. Member-level access is sufficient to corrupt shared resource definitions and break workflows that depend on them.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
