CVE-2026-72538Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated code execution via injected Git arguments

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Argument injection in Prefect through 3.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a git_clone branch value. The pull step passes the branch string directly as a git pull argument without neutralizing option delimiters, so an option-like value changes Git behavior. Authenticated access that controls the branch field is required, and injected Git arguments execute commands on the Prefect host handling the deployment.
