CVE-2026-72526Network attack vector

Spoke cluster takeover via unchecked target annotation

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

Privilege escalation in Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes allows remote authenticated users to control spokes via an Application CR. The Application propagation controller trusts the tenant-supplied ocm-managed-cluster annotation as the ManifestWork target without verifying authorization for that managed cluster. Application-creation permission on the hub is sufficient for Argo CD on a selected spoke to synchronize attacker-controlled manifests with cluster-admin authority.
