Kernel crash via xprtrdma removal race
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel 6.11 allows local users with administrative privileges to crash the kernel via an NFS/RDMA race. rpcrdma_create_id() publishes ep->re_rn before rpcrdma_ep_create() stores the new rdma_cm_id in ep->re_id, so concurrent device removal passes NULL to a tracepoint that dereferences the identifier. Triggering the crash requires administrative ability to race an NFS/RDMA mount against removal of the associated RDMA device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
