CVE-2026-72466Network attack vector

NFS-over-RDMA interruption via malformed reply handling

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds read and buffer leak in Linux allows remote attackers to interrupt NFS-over-RDMA service with malformed replies. rpcrdma_is_bcall reads five words after a zero-length bounds check and treats a truncated header as a backchannel call, skipping buffer release and receive reposting. An established RPC/RDMA session with an attacker-controlled peer is required; repeated replies drain the receive queue until the connection becomes unusable.
