Kernel memory corruption via unlinked freed metadata
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Use-after-free in the AMD KFD component of Linux allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through repeated CRIU resume ioctls. kfd_criu_resume_svm() frees each criu_svm_metadata entry without unlinking it, leaving the list head aimed at freed objects that are traversed and freed again. Render-group access to /dev/kfd is sufficient and requires no capabilities; the resulting double-free enables a system crash or kernel-privileged code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
