CVE-2026-72447

Kernel-memory disclosure via unlocked SCTP endpoint dump

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Information disclosure in affected Linux kernels from 4.7 allows local users to read uninitialized kernel memory through SCTP_DIAG. The endpoint-dump path counts addresses under RCU, then copies them without lock_sock(), so concurrent bindx changes can leave reserved output bytes uninitialized. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a concurrent SCTP address-list change; the disclosed bytes can contain kernel-memory remnants.
