Kernel stack disclosure via unchecked PVID lookup
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Information disclosure in Linux kernel netfilter allows local users to read four bytes of kernel stack data through bridge metadata evaluation. The NFT_META_BRI_IIFPVID path ignores a nonzero br_vlan_get_pvid_rcu return and stores the uninitialized p_pvid stack value. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a failed bridge PVID lookup; each evaluation discloses only four stack bytes.
