Out-of-bounds read via underlength GUE REMCSUM option
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel GUE receive path allows remote attackers to access adjacent memory via malformed UDP packets. guehdr_priv_flags_len() returns zero for GUE_PFLAG_REMCSUM, so validate_gue_flags() accepts packets missing the REMCSUM start and offset fields. Processing requires a configured GUE receive path; subsequent parsing reads beyond the declared option data, resulting in information disclosure or a kernel crash.
