Service interruption via leaked mlxsw LAG references
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Resource leak in the mlxsw driver in Linux allows local users to interrupt service by triggering repeated failed LAG joins. In mlxsw_sp_port_lag_join(), failure of mlxsw_sp_port_lag_index_get() returns without passing through mlxsw_sp_lag_put(), retaining the reference acquired by mlxsw_sp_lag_get(). The path requires local privileges and an mlxsw-managed switch port, and published material does not specify whether exhaustion causes a hang or crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
