CVE-2026-72275

Service disruption via incomplete probe error cleanup

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Memory leak in the broadsheetfb driver in Linux allows local users to degrade availability by triggering probe error handling. The broadsheetfb_probe() error path leaves pagerefs allocated by fb_deferred_io_init() because it omits fb_deferred_io_cleanup(). Reachability requires local access and a compatible framebuffer device; repeated failed probes consume kernel memory and can destabilize the system.
