Unauthenticated system crash via SCTP ASCONF handling
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel SELinux module allows remote attackers to crash affected systems via SCTP ASCONF traffic. selinux_sctp_bind_connect() dereferences sk->sk_socket without a file reference when sctp_process_asconf invokes the hook from the ASCONF softirq path. Exploitation requires SELinux and SCTP ASCONF processing; the documented consequence is system interruption rather than data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
