CVE-2026-72231Network attack vector

Mesh service interruption via pending-request storms

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel batman-adv module allows remote attackers to interrupt mesh networking via crafted TT requests. When batadv_send_tt_request() cannot allocate a send buffer, an inverted success check leaves its tt_req_node pending instead of removing it. A remote mesh peer can trigger repeated requests that consume network or processing capacity; no data access or modification is reported.
