Local denial of service via leaked VLAN objects
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Resource leak in the Linux kernel batman-adv component allows local users to exhaust memory by repeatedly aborting mesh-interface registration. When NETDEV_REGISTER is vetoed after batadv_meshif_vlan creation, register_netdevice() invokes only .priv_destructor; .dellink never frees the object. The attack requires local low-privileged access capable of repeatedly causing net-device registration to fail, consuming memory until service is interrupted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
