Page-state corruption via stale HugeTLB PTE commit
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Race condition in Linux kernel 6.7 allows local users to corrupt HugeTLB page-state metadata during PAGEMAP_SCAN write protection. make_uffd_wp_huge_pte() commits a snapshot without first atomically clearing the live PTE, so intervening hardware Dirty or Accessed updates are overwritten. Reachability requires PAGEMAP_SCAN with UFFD write protection on a present HugeTLB PTE; the bounded consequence is loss of Dirty or Accessed state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
