CVE-2026-72167

Availability degradation via unreleased register mapping

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux kernel PL353 raw NAND driver allows local users to degrade availability during module unload. probe() associates the devm_ioremap() mapping with the parent device instead of the PL353 device, so unloading the module does not release the register area. Triggering the leak requires local high privileges and PL353 NAND hardware; repeated unload activity consumes mapped resources and reduces availability.
