PCIe DMA disruption via unsynchronized interrupt masks

Missing synchronization in the Linux dw-edma driver allows adjacent attackers to disrupt PCIe DMA via concurrent channel starts. dw_edma_v0_core_start() performs non-atomic read-modify-write updates to the shared DONE_INT_MASK and ABORT_INT_MASK registers without a common lock. A physically connected or compromised PCIe root host must start two eDMA channels concurrently; lost mask updates can wedge channels until reboot and can expose stale data or alter DMA buffers.
