Bus lock via incomplete SMBus abort
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux NXP controller driver 6.13 allows attackers to lock the bus through a zero-length SMBus block-read response. The controller interrupt read handler treats a permitted count of zero as a protocol error after another receive starts, then exits without sending NACK and STOP. Reachability requires the affected controller and a block-read response with count zero; the target holds SDA until the controller is power-cycled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
