Unauthenticated command execution via interpolated search pattern
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Command injection in DVladimirov MCP 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute host commands through the Git Search API. The GitSearchRequest route passes the caller-controlled pattern to GitRepository.find_files_by_content, which interpolates it into a grep pipeline executed by subprocess.check_output with shell=True. An unauthenticated caller who can reach the endpoint and supply a clonable repository URL can read or alter host data, or interrupt the service, with the server process's privileges.
