CVE-2026-72092

Local kernel crash via absent submit callback

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

A NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.14 allows local users to crash the kernel via AMDXDNA_EXEC_CMD on an AIE4 virtual function. amdxdna_cmd_submit() unconditionally calls xdna->dev_info->ops->cmd_submit(), although aie4_vf_ops leaves that callback NULL. Reaching the flaw requires local access to the AMDXDNA_EXEC_CMD ioctl on an AIE4 SR-IOV virtual function, and triggering it oopses the kernel rather than submitting work.
